Validus Senior Living has a seasoned management team with proven operational experience.

Steve Benjamin

Chief Executive Officer > 30 Years

Steve Benjamin is a seasoned senior living professional with over 25 years experience in all facets of operation and development.

Prior to Validus, Steve was the President of Horizon Bay Retirement Living based in Tampa, FL. The portfolio consisted of 91 communities and 16,000 units representing product profiles of CCRC, IL, AL, ALZ and SNF with revenues of $515 million. Asset values exceeded $2.5 billion with 6,800 employees in 23 states of operation.

Zachary Zerbonia

Chief Operating Officer > 20 Years

Zachary is a seasoned and well-respected operational leader in the senior living industry. He brings extensive experience, education and skills sets to Validus as they gear up for a period of rapid growth.

Zachary served as Chief Executive and Strategic Officer of Aventine Hill Communities where he directed development, stabilization and growth of their senior living portfolio. Prior to that, Zachary served as the Senior Vice President of Brookdale Senior Living overseeing 80 communities in Florida with revenue in excess of $350M.

Lindsey Hacker

Chief Financial Officer > 10 Years

Lindsey Hacker is a certified public accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant in the State of Florida, she has a Master’s degree in Accounting from Florida State University.

She began her career in public accounting for Ernst & Young where she worked in both the public and private sector for various industries, including healthcare. After years of experience in public accounting, Lindsey began her career in senior living in 2009 where she worked with Steve Benjamin, CEO of Validus Senior Living, at Horizon Bay Retirement Living.

Rebecca Wheeler

Chief Growth Officer > 25 Years

Wheeler comes to Validus from Brookdale Senior Living, where she oversaw Sales and Marketing efforts for 260 communities across nine states, including Texas and Florida, the two largest senior living markets in the country.

Wheeler oversaw approximately 23,000 units across all product lines which generated $1 billion in annual revenue. Additionally, she managed an $8 million advertising budget, more than 30 sales leaders, and approximately 300 community sales associates.

Mike Roderer

VP Asset Management > 25 Years

Mike Roderer brings more than 25 years of progressive accounting, finance and asset management experience to Validus.

Mike has held leadership positions in healthcare, public utilities, banking, manufacturing and senior housing, where he has excelled in asset management, strategic planning and analysis.

Previously, Mike worked for Ventas, one of the nation’s largest healthcare real estate investment trusts, focused primarily in managing opportunity relationships and communities.
